3/14/2022 0 Comments Which shall be the greatest?The dispute among the disciples over which shall be the greatest followed immediately after Jesus had told them in the upper room that one of them would betray him. So it is likely that their dispute had primarily to do with which was the least likely to betray him, that is, which was the most spiritual, the most obedient, the least given to sin. Such an easy temptation this is, to desire to count oneself a greater Christian, a less likely person to fall. From this repentance is always necessary, for the woeful tendency cleaves to us all. The only great one is Christ, who served us in his holy passion. So let us, rather than falling to the temptation, rejoice in the mercy of Christ and seek to love and serve one another.
