The storm at sea

Today's Gospel finds Jesus asleep in the boat while his disciples strain against a roiling sea. How very like Jonah, whose sacrifice of being cast into the sea saved the mariners; but Jesus is greater than Jonah, and he was cast into the abyss of God's wrath to save us all from a worse fate than shipwreck.
