The Sower

Given all the impediments to the growth of the seed, it is amazing  that any should reach fruition. This is only due to the diligence of the Sower; not only so, but he was also cast like a seed into the ground, and the devil could not snatch him up, nor the allurement of the world, nor its trials. He fell into a good ground, and grew up and yielded a hundredfold, for he is the Tree of Life. And now again he sows his seed: he preaches still today, and the people who have ears to hear a blessed by his sowing even now. Sermon for Sexagesima.
