The Feeding of the 5000

Jesus leads the multitude into the wilderness to test them, as he had done with the Israelites in the wilderness of Sinai, that they might learn to trust him for all things. What's more, he wanted them to know, as he wants us to know, that the bread the perishes is not what we should labor for, but the Bread that endures, which is Christ himself, the Bread of Life. In him the Giver becomes the Gift, and in the Blessed Sacrament we receive Christ himself, who is all we need. Sermon for Lent IV. The video is here.
