The Emmaus Road

The disciples were on the wrong way, as they journeyed to Emmaus, for theirs was the way on which faith had died and they had only their foolish reason. So the Way came and walked with them and brought them back, preaching to them and kindling in their hearts a new faith, born of his preaching and the breaking of  the bread. So also with us, it is preaching and the Blessed Sacrament that kindles in us a hearty and eternal faith in the risen Christ. Sermon for Easter Midweek.
