The Ascension of Our Lord

Lift up your heads, O ye gates, that the King of Glory may come in! - so cried the angels escorting the ascending Lord to the other angels at heaven's doors. But the others replied, confused: who is this king of Glory? to which the first answered, The Lord Strong and Mighty! and a second time they called for the opening, and a second time the others asked, who is he? And the reply came again: The Lord of Hosts! For  it was a shocking thing to see: the Lord of Hosts is a Man! See, our Creator and God is Man, and has gained for us the Victory. So let us in heart and mind ascend to this glorious place and know that our Savior has accomplished all to gain for us entry into glory. Sermon for the Ascension, audio.
