Eckardtesian Thought: I think, therefore I write . . .
This saint, whose life is behind our stories of Santa Claus, is renowned for his generosity (toward a family spared three daughters from a life of shame, enabling them instead to be married off), is also known for his stubborn insistence on the deity of Jesus, as manifested in the framing of the Nicene Creed, in which he likely played a key role. Thus his awareness of how generous our Lord was to us in His giving of Himself led to a generosity also on the part of the saint. And we may learn the same connection for our lives.
