St. John, Apostle and Evangelist

St John called himself the beloved disciple, for he knew well of Jesus’ love for him; he had leaned on Jesus’ breast at supper. And this is what we do when we partake in the Sacrament; for there we lean even closer. We receive His body and blood. Sermon for St. John  the Apostle’s Day.
