SS Philip and James the Apostles

These men knew Jesus to be the Way, as he said to them. For he did not say, I will show you the way, but, I am the Way. Therefore they were privileged to find whom their faith and their believing hearts sought, according to David's prayer, When thou saidst, Seek ye my face, my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek. For to be where Jesus is and to see him is to see the face of God; Jesus is the image of the Father. And the Way is also the Truth and the Life, as he said. To be on the Way, therefore, is to hear the Truth he speaks, and to have life, and have it more abundantly. This is why Philip and James the Less were unafraid to face their own martyrdom, and so set an example for us. Sermon for SS Philip and James the Apostles.
