Misericordias Domini

Jesus is the Good Shepherd. He gives his life for the sheep. But he must yet return  to them, else how can he continue as  their shepherd? He must rise from the dead. So he does; not only so, but he must establish a holy Office through which he continues to shepherd his sheep until his return. So he also says to Peter: Feed my sheep.
