Eckardtesian Thought: I think, therefore I write . . .
3/26/2018 0 Comments Holy WeekHoly mass during Holy Week: Holy Monday 7 p.m., Holy Tuesday 7 p.m., Holy Wednesday 7 p.m., Maundy Thursday 7 p.m. followed by the stripping of the altar, Good Friday Solemn Liturgy and Mass 7 p.m., Holy Saturday Vigil of Easter 7 p.m.
The Great Vigil starts outside with the lighting of the new fire from which the paschal candle is lit. The procession into the darkened church is followed by the Exsultet as a high point of the Service of Light. After the Service of Light comes the Service of Readings which culminates in the Song of the Three Children (the men in the fiery furnace). Then the Service of Baptismal Remembrance, which, this year, includes a confirmation and the reception of a member by transfer. Finally Easter is welcomed with the Service of the Sacrament, at which we exclaim, Alleluia! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia! On Easter morning we celebrate the discovery of the risen Christ with Sunrise mass at 7 a.m., followed by the Easter breakfast. There are plenty of opportunities for worship and the renewal of your faith here. For Christ, our Passover, is sacrificed for us.
