Fourth Sunday in Advent

John's confession, "I am not the Christ," though it is a denial, is a confession because of what it implies. There is one who is the Christ, the one who says, "I am." He is the great I AM, the maker of all, whose shoe's latched neither John nor any of us is worthy to unlatch. So let us approach in humility and awareness that the one thing we need to stand before him is the forgiveness of sins. This we receive in Baptism and again here, in the Supper. Sermon for the Fourth Sunday in Advent. The video is here.
