Faith provides real sight

Jesus' enemies had no faith, and therefore were truly blind. And they were given to lies. But the true children of Abraham are those who believe like Abraham. Abraham saw Jesus' day. He saw the land promised to him, he saw his son Isaac born, and he saw Isaac returned to him on the mountain. These were glimpses of their fulfillment, of Christ himself. For Abraham had learned at last to live by faith, willing even to sacrifice his son, believing that God must raise him from the dead in order to keep his word. And he did receive him back, as a figure of Jesus' resurrection. So let us live by faith. Sermon for Lent V. The video is here.
