Truth Is of Christ; Lies Are of the Devil

Jesus' adversaries could not hear him because they were given to the lies of the devil, the author of lies. He is also the lover of death, so the adversaries sought to kill Jesus the Author of Life. Turn from all lies, and embrace truth, and rejoice that you have not only ears, but ears to hear the Gospel and believe it. This second hearing is greater than the first, for this is necessary for salvation. To hear the truth that Jesus speaks is to believe that he came forth from God, and  that whoever embraces and believes his word shall not die but live. Sermon for Midweek of Lent III. The video is here.
