Third Sunday in Advent

John sent his disciples to Jesus to verify for the record that He is indeed the Coming One, the Christ. There are indications that seem to be to the contrary: John is languishing in prison, and his disciples have lost their leader. So also with us, when our prayers seem to go unanswered, the question arises: is Jesus truly the Christ? And so the resounding answer, historically verifiable, is Yes. But we still live in a fallen world, and must for many reasons endure hardship; not least, that we might remember humility and our great need. Sermon for the Third Sunday in Advent. The video is here.
