Holy Wednesday: Satan enters Judas; the Spirit enters a malefactor

All the wickedness that came upon Jesus in his Passion was begun when Satan entered Judas; Satan entered all Jesus' enemies, and they all participated in the horrible deeds that were done  to him. For Satan had entered Eve, and with her Adam, and Satan is the cause of all wickedness in all the world, from wars, to murders, to abortions, to all manner of terrors. But Satan is a fool, and there is no wisdom in him. He rejected his Creator, and thus now his wickedness is used against him as he brings to pass the crucifixion of Jesus which redeems the world. And Jesus meanwhile sends forth his Spirit with his word, and Peter is called back to repentance, and all the disciples, and even the malefactor on the cross, who saw Jesus as a King, even while he was bleeding. So Satan is no match for the Spirit of God who has even captured our hearts. Sermon for Holy Wednesday.
