Eckardtesian Thought: I think, therefore I write . . .
Jesus weeps over Jerusalem and then becomes angry. His passionate responses are indicative both of his humanity and of the singular divine desire he shares with his Father, a desire we also need: to know the things that belong unto our peace. But this is no earthly peace; it is a heavenly, which came down to earth in the incarnate one. For the angels sang peace on earth at his birth, and now at his coming to Jerusalem his children sing peace in heaven; and he cleans out the temple and replaces the thieves with himself, who is in fact the true temple. He is our peace, and our reception of him in the blessed Supper is therefore the reception of peace between God and man. Sermon for Trinity X.
